Psychosocial Recovery Coaches

At Recovery Plus Support, we offer comprehensive support coordination services tailored to meet the unique needs of participants across a spectrum of disabilities.

A Psychosocial Recovery Coaches requires lived and/or learnt experience to best cater to the needs of the participants. They serve diverse roles including but not limited to:

  • Recovery coaches collaborate with participants, families, carers, and other services to identify, plan, design, and coordinate NDIS support.
  • They support people with psychosocial disabilities to live a fulfilling and contributing life by helping them build capacity and resilience through strong and respectful relationships.

Qualifications/Certifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in peer work or mental health (minimum of Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work or Certificate IV in Mental Health) or equivalent training and/or a minimum of two years of experience in mental health-related work.
  • Minimum 3 days Full-time availability during the week.
  • Must have a reliable vehicle, Driver’s License and ability to travel with third-party insurance.
  • Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain one.
  • Current National Criminal History Check or willingness to obtain one.
  • Current Working with Children’s Checks or willingness to obtain one.
  • The right to work in Australia (Valid proof required).

Personal Skills/Competencies

  • A genuine desire to provide quality care and enhance the participants’ lives.
  • Reliable, responsible attitude towards work and able to commit to regular ongoing hours.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Access to smartphones.
  • Ability to provide a person-centred approach that empowers the client’s independence and choice.
  • Experience in managing challenging behaviours and ensuring a safe environment for the client.
